9. WooCommerce Payments (Stripe)
WooCommerce Payments, WooCommerce’s own payment processing solution based on Stripe. This allows customers to make purchases directly on the website without being redirected to an external payment service provider. Transactions can also be displayed/managed in WooCommerce.
What is Stripe.js?
Stripe.js (just like the Android and iOS SDKs) is a JavaScript library that businesses use to integrate Stripe and accept online payments. Once Stripe.js is added to a site or mobile app, fraud signals are used to distinguish legitimate from fraudulent behavior.
For example, fraudsters and bots spend less time on different pages, which we can recognize and use as a fraud signal.
When you visit a page that uses Stripe, this fraud prevention may appear in a privacy report or tracking list in your web browser.
Even if you see Stripe in a tracking list, this does not mean that we create an individual tracking profile about you. Stripe will not sell or share this data with advertisers. This data is only shared among the following hosts controlled by Stripe:
js.stripe.com
m.stripe.network
m.stripe.com
q.stripe.com
The data collected by these endpoints is protected and does not leave the Stripe infrastructure. Access to this data is strictly controlled and limited to a small number of Stripe employees dedicated to fraud prevention and security (these permissions are also reviewed regularly). You can learn more in our Privacy Policy.
You can also visit our Privacy Center to learn more about privacy at Stripe.
Stripe sets the following cookies when you make a purchase
__stripe_mid for 1 year for fraud prevention
